Rule Changes Regarding Competition Numbers

As of January 1, 2012 several important changes will be made regarding CDDA Competition Numbers.

Applying for a CDDA Competion Number (CN)

To apply for a CDDA CN applicants will fill out a CN application and send the accompanying fee.  The application can be sent by mail or courier with a cheque or it can be sent via the internet with an internet bank transfer.  The fee for a CDDA CN will be reduced to $20 per dog.

Once the application and fee is received the applicant will be sent a number via e-mail.  No hard copy or card will be sent. The
CDDA rulebook is now available on the CDDA website and so no hard copy of the rulebook will be sent.  A hardcopy of the rulebook can be purchased for $10 for those who would like a hardcopy.  All applicants are expected to become familiar with all the CDDA rules before competing.

For those that already have a CDDA Competition Number (CN)

Your number will not change and should be used just as always at CDDA competitions, but the below rule will also affect you.

The CDDA CN Now Represents the Dog ONLY

In the past the CDDA CN always represented a team, a dog and a handler.  Now the CN represents the dog only, similar to how a CRN or AAC number works in flyball or agility respectively.  This means that no matter who handles the dog the points go towards the dog's titles.  It is possible for one dog to be handled by multiple people, but only one person can handle a dog per class, with the exception of junior handlers.

Dogs earning titles and certificates will now only have the dog's call name and not the handler's name on the certificate.
